What we buy

Every kind of hurricane damage a golf cart can take

Whatever the storm did to your cart, it still has value to us. Motors, controllers, frames, seats and batteries get reused or recycled.

Storm surge & saltwater

The hardest hit a cart can take. Salt keeps corroding the motor, controller, wiring and brakes after it dries, so surge carts often fail weeks later.

Rain & river flooding

Gentler than surge, but silt packs into bearings, connectors and the battery bay, and batteries that sat underwater rarely come back.

Wind, trees & debris

Crushed roofs and windshields, bent frames, carts flipped by gusts or flattened when a carport came down.

Flooded lithium carts

A lithium pack that sat in water, salt water especially, needs careful handling and safe transport. We buy these and know how to move them.

Repair or sell?

When fixing a storm-damaged cart makes sense, and when it doesn't

Repair might be worth it if…

  • Only rainwater reached it, and it stayed below the floorboard
  • The damage is cosmetic: a roof, windshield or body panel
  • The cart is newer and worth well more than the repair estimate
  • The batteries and controller test good after drying out

Selling usually wins if…

  • It sat in storm surge or brackish water
  • Water reached the seat or covered the battery pack
  • It has a flooded lithium battery
  • Your insurer totaled it, or repair quotes approach what it's worth
  • The frame is bent or the cart was crushed
  • You don't want to wait weeks for parts and shop time

Safety first

Flooded electric or lithium cart? Do this before anything else.

After Hurricane Ian, Florida’s State Fire Marshal warned that lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and golf carts can catch fire after saltwater exposure, sometimes well after the storm has passed.

Don't power it up

Leave the key off, don't press the pedal and don't plug in the charger.

Move it away from the house

If it's safe, push it in Tow mode to an open spot outdoors, away from buildings, vehicles and anything that burns.

Watch for warning signs

Heat, smoke, hissing, popping or a swollen battery case: get clear and call 911.

Leave the battery sealed

Don't open a flooded lithium pack. We handle it at pickup.

After the storm

Your first five moves with a storm-damaged golf cart

The days after a hurricane are chaos. These steps protect you, your insurance claim and the value of the cart.

Get an offer first
  1. Wait for the water to drop

Check for downed lines or live outlets before you go near the cart.

  2. Keep the power off

A test drive on a wet cart can burn out a controller that might have been worth something.

  3. Take photos first

The water line on the wall, all four sides of the cart, the serial plate and the battery labels.

  4. Call your insurer

Ask how the cart is covered, and under which policy. Write down the claim number.

  5. Get an offer before paying for repairs

Knowing what the cart is worth as-is makes the repair decision easy.

Insurance claim? We can work with that.

If your insurer totals the cart, we can buy the salvage or coordinate with your adjuster directly. Keep your claim number and photos handy and mention them in your request.

Golf courses, HOAs and resorts

When a storm floods the cart barn, you need one buyer for the whole lot. We quote fleets at once and plan pickup around your recovery, flooded lithium units included.

Questions

Hurricane-damaged golf cart questions

Didn't see your question?

Call or text 954-350-0440
Will you buy a golf cart that sat in storm surge?

Yes. Saltwater carts are a big part of what we buy. Tell us roughly how high the water got and how long the cart sat, and add a photo of the water line if you can.

My insurance company totaled my golf cart. Can I still sell it?

Often, yes. If you kept the salvage, or your insurer is selling it, we can make an offer. Have your claim number and photos handy, and check your claim paperwork for any conditions on the salvage.

Should I clean up or repair the cart before I sell it?

No. Leave the power off and don't spend money on it. Take photos of the damage and the water line, then send them with your quote request. We buy carts exactly as the storm left them.

Do you buy flooded lithium golf carts?

Yes, and we move them carefully. Until pickup, don't charge the cart or switch it on, and keep it outdoors away from buildings if you can do that safely.

Can you pick up a cart that won't roll or is stuck in debris?

Yes. Flat tires, a locked brake, a cart pinned under a carport or buried in storm debris: tell us what you're dealing with and we'll bring what's needed.

How soon can you pick up after a hurricane?

It depends on road access and where you are. Give us your ZIP code with your request and we'll tell you the pickup timing when we make the offer.

Do you buy storm-damaged golf carts outside Florida?

Yes. We're based in South Florida and buy hurricane-damaged carts nationwide, including the Gulf Coast states, Georgia and the Carolinas.

How do I get paid?

Once you accept the offer, you choose a bank transfer or a cashier’s check.

Storm took your cart? Turn it into cash.

Send the details and a few photos. We'll come back with an offer, then handle the pickup.
